For technical purposes, cold and tropical steel coiling is consistent. However, due to the particularity of cold strip production, cold strip coiling also has the following characteristics:
(1) the prominent feature of tension cold strip coiling (especially on the rolling line) is the use of large tension. In addition, as the tension directly affects the quality and size accuracy of the product, there are strict requirements for tension control. Modern large tension cold strip coiler adopts double armature or multi-armature dc click-drive, and reduces the rotary inertia of the drive system as far as possible, and improves the speed regulation performance, so as to achieve strict control of the tension. The coiling tensile stress of various production lines is shown in table 12-2. During rolling coiling, machining hardening factors should be considered in table 12-2. The tension stress should be high when the thin strip is unrolled.

(2) the surface quality of cold strip steel is smooth and clean, and the accuracy of shape and size is high, so the requirements on the geometric shape and surface quality of the reel are also improved accordingly.
(3) when the cold rolled thin strip steel is rolled with a large diameter reel, the stability of the coil after unrolling is extremely poor, or even collapse. Therefore, the production line with a wide range of thickness should be able to use several coils with different diameters.
(4) the rectifying control of strip steel often requires the strip steel to be aligned strictly during operation to make the coil edge of the strip coil neat. The automatic rectifying control device is adopted. The working principle of the strip rectifying device is shown in FIG. 12-11. The coiler rack 1 is active. After the adjustment, the fixed photoelectric element 4 detects the strip edge. The strip deflection will generate the output signal of the photoelectric element. After the signal is amplified, the electro-hydraulic servo controller 5 controls the oil cylinder 6. The result of rectifying is closely related to the speed of rectifying. The rectifying speed can be determined according to the unit speed reference table 12-3.
